If your Dell laptop lcd screen is cracked or displaying lines, than you will need to have it replaced. Instead of going into details of why your screen may be defective, let me just say that it is much easier to replace the entire screen instead of repairing the screen itself. You will first need to purchase the correct screen. To do this, you need to remove the screen and locate the part number. First, remove the power button bar. You will expose the lcd hinges. Unscrew the lcd hinges, disconnect the wifi and lcd cables and remove the screen. Now, you will need to remove the lcd bezel and lcd cover. Once you do this, the screen will be exposed and behind the unit you will find the part number. Do a search online for the part number and purchase the correct screen. To install it you will need to do the same thing mentioned, but backwards. This will resolve your lcd problem, plain and simple.
